Jacklyn Atieno

Jacklyn is HIV-positive and has struggled to provide for her family while dealing with her medical challenges. Mama Margaret and Lahash have been assisting and counseling Jacklyn.

This has included helping with household chores and groceries, and at the same time advising and couseling Jacklyn in the best way to seek proper medical care.

A Lahash donor has donated money specifically to pay rent and buy groceries for Jacklyn and her two kids, as well as make sure Jacklyn gets the medicine she needs. If Jacklyn's health fails, her two children will be facing possible starvation and homelessness in a difficult and harsh environment.

Update (Nov 17, 2007): The last few months have been filled with several ups and downs. Jacklyn's health has improved, but her job was cut. She has been helping at the school, and thanks to the child sponsorship program, her family is receiving desperately-needed assistance with food as well as other essentials.
